Museum Alive Day

Museum Day is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by Smithsonian magazine. In celebration of this day you can visit the Railroad and Heritage Museum free of charge on Saturday, September 21! Tickets are now available. The Museum Day ticket provides free admission for two people on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

Night at the Museum Train Ride

Join us April 12th a Night at the Museum! This train adventure will take you on a journey through the Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum after hours. Take a lantern tour through the steam engine, learn about the hobo codes, and make your own snack pack before boarding the train to Taylor. Ticket holders will board the Amtrak train at 4:43 pm from the Santa Fe Depot and ride it to Taylor, TX where we will disembark and return to the museum via bus. Tickets are available for all ages ( 18 months and older). Children under 18 months do not need a ticket as long as they are in an Adult lap. Check-in for Night at the Museum will begin at the Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum at 3:30 pm Crafts and activities throughout the museum will be available from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm. The train will depart to Taylor at 4:45 pm. We will be leaving Taylor and arriving back to the museum by 6:30. Tickets for this event are nonrefundable. If you wish to forfeit your tickets they will be considered as a donation to the museum.
